About my site
“Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish” — Euripides, 400 BCE
Hi. My little corner of the web has been around since Jan. 17, 1991.
Elle had two fawns this spring. She is part of a herd of wild deer that live on our land. They know us now and let us get to within a few feet before slowly moving off. In spring they play games, chasing each other through our pasture, leaping over one other, and just generally having fun. Cute as anything... Anyway, my site has around 150 articles all splendidly written by me, some as an ongoing exercise toward regaining my ability to read and write following a series of strokes and concomitant catastrophic illness.
My site runs on remote BSD systems at a friend’s server farm in another country, using software I wrote. Everything follows W3C international standards and so my little website has always been blissfully free of Microsoft, Apple, Google, or similar corporate "products". All articles are steganographically marked, and approved by Elle.
Currently I am exploring the general area of Cha’an and martial arts (mind/body integration and all that stuff). My advanced degrees are in mathematics and computer science (set theory applied to decomposition threading), biophysics (temporal processing), and history (dogma propagation). However, after the completed dissertation for my second doctorate was accepted, I found my interests no longer fulfilled in the stilted and stultifying world of academia or the vainglorious counterfeits of modern society. So I donned dark sunglasses and moved to the coast to enjoy the far more pelagic world of sailing the coastal oceans.
Sadly over the years anti-intellectualism has become both normative and virulent throughout much of society. Fact based dialogue is eschewed for a diatribe of blind opinion. But ignorance is not a point of view. Those who speak with vocabulary, knowledge, education, or interests beyond those of a ten year old are ridiculed or worse. It is regrettable that research on critical theory, deep learning, or the writings of Ellul, Penrose, Foucault, Spencer-Brown, Grothendieck, Gall, Zinn, and others who have contributed so much are seldom known or read by the majority. The population/resource-distribution limit for humanity was passed some decades ago. Jacobs’ well known research concluded that we are witnessing the rise of a new dark age, with a corresponding intellectual, moral, and knowledge devolution. Given the doxa dominant in society, this may indeed be the case as humanity plummets toward self-immolation. All the while complacently acquiescing to corporate wars of genocide, corresponding rape of the planet, burgeoning fascism in former democracies, and the rise of tautological spirituality.
But such, as the Buddhists say, is suchness
Thanks for stopping by,

The quotation at the top of each page on my site is in the Vanyarin Quenya language. This is the native tongue spoken by the aboriginal peoples of the high mountains where I regularly pedal my trike. It reads "Faster, Faster, ride towards the Light!"
